The position will be responsible for the coordination, specification, design, development, testing, integration, and implementation of GIS technologies. This will also include database design, implementation and management, GIS application development, and GIS standards development and implementation. Time will be divided between maintenance of current applications and the design of new applications. The position will also be involved in making recommendations regarding the development of a new code and assisting in the development of that code. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the consistency of the GIS data stewardship Coordinate updates of features and attributes of GIS data Develop, assemble, edit, and revise maps and map products using GIS cartographic concept, principles, and processes Assist in development of application user manuals Provide primary application maintenance including upgrades, patches, and database model changes Provide primary support to GIS users Provide internet and web-based support to on-line, web-based GIS Work with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them Continually refine business processes for more efficient GIS based application usage Assure that the GIS databases interface with other systems May lead, direct, or manage a GIS team. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected Works alongside client GIS staff and engineers Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Davenport, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
