Job Description

Description T he Water Resources Engineering Division of the City of Greensboro is offering a part-time GIS support position. The individual in this position will be responsible for performing a wide variety of office support, GIS, and CADD functions in support of the Asset Management and GIS team, and may also provide administrative duties to other staff. The individual in this position will provide technical and field support for ongoing data collection on water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater infrastructure, basic AutoCAD drawings, data entry, and other miscellaneous projects. The individual selected for this position will work in ArcGIS and use survey equipment to collect data in the field as a main function of the job, will get training on the different functions required for the job, and will be given considerable independence to exercise judgment and discretion in handling assigned responsibilities. Hourly Employment :
Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays.
Limited Hours :
Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12-month period.
Pension System :
Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city's pension system. While roster positions do not include benefits, they are often a pathway to full-time, benefited employment with the City. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver's license Must be at least 18 years old An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications) : Experience working in an office environment. Previous experience using ArcGIS. Previous experience using AutoCAD. Willingness to work in the field and perform outdoor tasks.
Requirements Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday; 8am - 5pm (20 hours a weeks)
