GIS Instructor TEKsystems $80.00 - $90.00 / hr life insurance, sick time, 401(k), retirement plan United States, Connecticut, Berlin May 16, 2026
Overview:
- We are seeking a GIS Learning & Development Specialist to support a large-scale, 10-year digital transformation program within a Transmission organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instructor-led and virtual training sessions focused on
ESRI GIS
technologies, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise- Support adoption of ESRI Utility Network (Transmission) by developing and delivering clear, practical learning experiences
- Facilitate training on ArcFM tools (Schneider Electric) and GIS editing workflows
- Translate complex GIS concepts into accessible training materials for technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with SMEs, project teams, and stakeholders to design training aligned to transformation goals
- Develop and maintain training content, including presentations, job aids, exercises, and documentation
- Provide guidance on GIS data editing, workflows, and best practices
- Support integration topics including CAD GIS workflows
- Participate in continuous improvement of training programs and curriculum
- Travel as needed to support in-person training sessions and key meetings
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience delivering technical training (GIS, engineering systems, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with:
- ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise
- ESRI Utility Network (preferably within Transmission)
- ESRI or ArcFM editing environments
- Familiarity with ArcFM tools (Schneider Electric preferred)
- Experience with CAD and GIS integration workflows
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Ability to explain technical systems in a structured, easy-to-understand format

Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with:
- FME / Data Interoperability tools (Safe Software)
- Subnetwork diagrams within Utility Network
- Background in the electric utility industry (transmission strongly preferred)
- Experience supporting large transformation or system implementation programs
- Instructional design experience or formal training certifications
Work Environment & Travel:
- Candidates can be based anywhere in the U.S.
- Travel is expected for in-person training sessions and occasional team meetings
- Preference may be given to candidates located closer to training hubs

- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $90.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
