GIS Mapper / Analyst•Remote#26-06216 Akron, OH Remote Contract Starts 6/22/2026 Ends 5/15/2028 Job Description Genesis10 is currently seeking a GIS Mapper / Analyst•Remote position with a Major Utility Company located in Akron, OH or Greensburg, PA. This is a contract to hire opportunity.
Pay Range:
$34.00•$39.00 per hour. Seeking a skilled GIS Mapper/Analyst for the transmission mapping group. The role involves developing and maintaining maps, web maps, and GIS applications using ESRI products like ArcMap and ArcPro. The ideal candidate will interpret engineering drawings to create mapping solutions and possess strong technical and project management skills.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain maps, web maps, GIS applications, and create reports utilizing Python, Arcade, or other code, leveraging ESRI APIs and tools for automation and advanced spatial analysis Consult internal and external groups to develop architecture and functionality for proposed projects and process improvements within the Transmission Asset Mapping Interface (TAMI) web application, incorporating
ESRI GIS
technologies Independently schedule and manage workload and GIS-related requests from other business units to meet project deadlines using ESRI tools for efficient task tracking Analyze engineering issues, structures, and equipment, rmending appropriate GIS-based mapping solutions and alternate options using ESRI platforms such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online Train and perform knowledge transfers for employees in the Transmission Organization on
ESRI GIS
tools, workflows, and best practices Perform analysis and troubleshoot issues related to TAMI and ESRI software products, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and web applications Collaborate with outside engineering firms, vendors, and consultants to ensure GIS data accuracy andpliance with ESRI standards Provide mapping support to employees, assisting in their understanding of GIS standards, procedures, designs, and associated issues using ESRI solutions Facilitatemunication across business units regarding GIS project needs; convene internal project meetings to ensure ESRI-based deliverables align with project schedules Research and explore new ESRI technologies and automation tools to streamline GIS workflows, increase efficiency, and reduce human error Communicate GIS mapping standards to ensure accurate and consistent spatial data across ESRI platforms Participate in industry meetings (e.g., ESRI User Conferences, Utility Consortiums) to ensure thepany has a voice in shaping GIS industry direction
Requirements:
2-4 years of experience as a GIS Mapper or Analyst Skilled in ArcMap, ArcPro, Portal, and other ESRI products Ability to interpret engineering drawings for mapping solutions Experience with Python, Arcade, or other code for automation and spatial analysis Strong technical, project management, and decision-making skills Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
