Job Description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a GIS Mapper

•Hybrid for a contract position with a Major Utility Company located in South Plainfield, NJ. This is a 24+ month contract opportunity.

Compensation:

$19.00

•$29.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:

This role involves assignments related to recording and producing information associated with the construction, operation, and maintenance of electric utility systems. The position begins with a mandatory onsite training period of 8 to 12 weeks, after which it transitions to a hybrid work model. Candidates must be able tomute to a secondary location once a week for distributions.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain the GIS connected model with information from sources including work management systems, as-built construction drawings, work orders, andpletion records

Perform analysis or queries to assemble data and prepare reports, tabulations, charts, and maps from asset information

Produce standard s and ad-hoc plots for field requests containing specific information derived from the connected model

Maintain service point data and the relationship to the feeding source transformer

Track the lifespan of utility asset data, including history, inspection, and attachments

Resolve conflicting data, mapping, connectivity, and land issues through office or field investigation

Perform GIS work pertaining to major projects such as facility relocations, load rearrangement, and new business

Operate automated office equipment, perform manual orputer-aided drafting, and file records

Primary Requirements:

1-2+ years of GIS experience (from school or work)

Experience updating, editing, or modifying geospatial data within a map

Must be able to work at variouspany locations based on business needs

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to operate motor vehicles in the state of New Jersey

Willingness to use a personal vehicle for minimal fieldwork if required

Computer skills in MS Office and other Windows applications

Open to recent college graduates with GIS experience from school or internships

Desired Skills:

Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD

Knowledge of a utility's Transmission and Distribution systems
