Job Description

Public Works Analyst II (GIS)
City of Waynesboro Public Works Position Description:
Performs GIS analytical work in support of a variety of Public Works functions. Duties will include maintaining GIS layers, updating GIS databases as new facilities are built in the City, updating public facing GIS maps, supporting utility crew work, and developing analytical products to support maintenance, engineering, and stormwater operations. Conduct field work to GPS existing items (e.g., water meters) to be added into GIS. Serve as a back-up administrator for the department's asset management system. The position will primarily be office based, but routine field work in all weather conditions will be required.
Requirements and Preferences :
A GIS focused Associate Degree (or higher) or significant GIS experience is required. Possession of a valid Virginia driver's license is required. Ability to lift 50lbs and carry 30lbs for long periods across uneven terrain is required. Experience with utilities, construction, or engineering is preferred. Experience with asset management systems and software management is preferred.
Starting Salary :
$50,000-$54,000, depending on skills/experience, with the opportunity to obtain salary increases through additional education/training. EOE
