Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking GIS Specialists across multiple experience levels to support large and complex infrastructure and capital improvement projects. This position is responsible for preparing, managing, analyzing, and maintaining geographic information systems (GIS) data and mapping resources to support project planning, design, analysis, construction, operations, and asset management activities. The GIS Specialist will work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, planners, technical staff, consultants, and stakeholders to develop and maintain accurate spatial data, mapping products, and geospatial analysis tools. Depending on experience and qualifications, responsibilities may range from supporting GIS data preparation and analysis to leading GIS coordination, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and enterprise geospatial management efforts. Duties Prepare, manage, maintain, and analyze GIS data in support of project planning, design, construction, operations, and infrastructure analysis activities. Develop and maintain spatial databases, mapping products, geospatial datasets, and related documentation. Support project definition, site analysis, infrastructure planning, and asset management through GIS analysis and visualization tools. Perform QA/QC reviews of GIS data for existing and proposed facilities and infrastructure. Coordinate GIS data integration and management activities with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders. Ensure accuracy, consistency, completeness, and integrity of geospatial datasets and mapping deliverables. Create maps, exhibits, dashboards, and other geospatial visualization products to support technical and management decision-making. Support field data collection, data validation, and integration of geospatial information from multiple sources. Assist with development and implementation of GIS standards, workflows, and best practices. Support project reporting, documentation, and data management requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery objectives and regulatory compliance requirements. Monitor emerging GIS technologies, tools, and methodologies to support continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Engineering, Planning, or a related field required. Experience levels may range from early-career GIS professionals to senior-level GIS specialists with extensive experience supporting large and complex infrastructure or transportation-related projects. Responsibilities and level of oversight will vary based on experience, technical expertise, and project assignment. Strong knowledge of GIS principles, spatial analysis techniques, and geospatial data management. Experience with GIS software platforms such as Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related applications. Ability to create and maintain maps, geospatial databases, and spatial analysis products. Understanding of QA/QC procedures related to GIS data and mapping accuracy. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams. Experience managing and interpreting large and complex datasets. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and geospatial data management tools.
Pay:
$74,000.00 - $142,000.00 per year
