Job Summary:
Under minimal direction, plans, organizes, and supervises the Information Technology Department for the District. This position is responsible for supervising IT personnel; establishing and maintaining technical, operational, and cybersecurity standards; ensuring the reliability, security, and continuity of mission-critical systems; and maintaining the integrity of the District's network, communications, and technology infrastructure in support of public safety and administrative operations. The IT Services Supervisor oversees daily technology operations, user support services, system maintenance, vendor coordination, and technology projects to support efficient service delivery and organizational effectiveness.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Leads and supervises IT personnel in the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Department, including assigning work, establishing priorities, monitoring workload, and ensuring quality and efficiency of services and support.
- Develops and evaluates assigned personnel through performance management, coaching, mentorship, succession planning, and professional development initiatives that support accountability, workforce readiness, and organizational effectiveness.
- Collaborates with the IT Director and serves as a liaison between the Information Technology Department and other departments to promote effective communication, collaboration, and customer service.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide on-call support during non-business hours.
- Ensures that technical priorities and established procedures are properly executed to meet the needs of the organization.
- Supervises assigned personnel by planning and organizing activities, workload, and projects.
- Supports staff through internal and external training, coaching, mentorship, and performance management activities.
- Provides advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for complex hardware, software, network, telecommunications, and system-related issues.
- Ensures the reliability, security, and availability of local and wide area networks, telecommunications systems, wireless infrastructure, and related technology systems.
- Oversees backup and disaster recovery processes to support continuity of operations and ensure compliance with established recovery objectives.
- Ensures timely, effective, and professional responses to technical support requests, operational issues, and service interruptions.
- Performs advanced-level support and troubleshooting activities to maintain critical public safety and business operations.
- Assists with developing, coordinating, prioritizing, and managing projects, resource allocation, and operational initiatives to support departmental and District objectives.
- Maintains and oversees documentation related to network configuration, licensing, change management, backup and recovery procedures, technology infrastructure, and overall system performance.
- Manages technology-related contracts to ensure project compliance.
- Assists with forecasting, evaluating, and recommending technology solutions, infrastructure improvements, operational enhancements, and future technology needs.
- Develops, coordinates, or facilitates technology-related training delivery and end-user support as needed.
- Pursues continuing education, professional development, and technical training necessary to maintain current knowledge of industry standards, emerging technologies, cybersecurity practices, and operational needs.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- A minimum of four (4) years of increasingly responsible, comprehensive experience in the IT field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of leadership exposure or supervisor experience in the IT field.
- Must possess and maintain valid Arizona driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Public Safety and/or Public Sector work experience.
- Wireless microwave experience.
- Experience in Active Directory administration for Windows.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Physical Requirements:
