Trading Company (UST) is a Bay Area-based Asian food importer and distributor with over 40 years of operating history. Headquartered in Hayward, CA, we source from across Asia and supply grocery retailers, foodservice accounts, and specialty markets throughout the U.S. We operate multiple affiliated companies with approximately 100 employees across Hayward, San Jose, and internationally. We are actively investing in the systems, automation, and infrastructure needed to scale.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We need a hands-on IT & Infrastructure Manager to own our network, security, and systems environment across a multi-warehouse, multi-office operation. Your primary focus is keeping our infrastructure solid, secure, and scalable

• while bridging into business systems integration in the near term until we hire a dedicated Data & Systems Architect to own that layer.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Infrastructure & Security

• Primary Focus Own LAN/WAN, firewalls, VLANs, Wi-Fi segmentation, VPN, and cloud platforms (Azure / AWS) Manage virtualization (VMware / vSphere), Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 / Entra ID Lead Zero Trust security: MFA, least privilege, device trust, immutable backups, and ransomware defenses Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans with regular restore testing Support multi-site operations across warehouses, offices, and remote users (Hayward & San Jose) Business Systems & Integrations•Interim Ownership Provide hands-on support for ERP, WMS, e-commerce, and EDI platform connectivity Maintain existing integrations and flag data flow issues Ensure systems access controls, auditability, and uptime across all business applications Vendors, Projects & Documentation Manage MSPs, cloud providers, software licensing, and overseas tech vendors Own system diagrams, SOPs, and recovery documentation Handle escalated help desk issues and provide hands-on end-user support as needed Supervise and coordinate with a dedicated Help Desk staff member who will handle day-to-day user support This is a working manager role•you lead by doing, not just directing

QUALIFICATIONS

7+ years in IT infrastructure, network engineering, or systems administration Strong hands-on experience with networking, security, virtualization, and the Microsoft stack Familiarity with ERP/WMS platforms and business system connectivity

• deep integration architecture not required Experience supporting multi-location, operational businesses (distribution, logistics, or food & beverage preferred) Comfortable diagnosing complex issues and communicating tradeoffs clearly to non-technical leadership Multilingual a plus
• Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) preferred for Asia vendor coordination

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base Salary:

$115,000

• $145,000 depending on experience

Bonus:

Performance bonus tied to system reliability, security outcomes, and project delivery

Network and infrastructure is stable, secure, and fully documented within 90 days Zero critical security incidents from preventable gaps Business systems are connected and running cleanly
