The IT Manager/IT Supervisor oversees the organization's information technology infrastructure, systems, and support services across engineering offices, project sites, and fabrication facilities. This role ensures reliable and secure IT operations that support engineering design, project execution, procurement, and manufacturing activities. The IT Manager will lead day-to-day IT operations, support business-critical engineering and enterprise systems, manage vendors and service providers, and ensure technology platforms enable productivity across office, field, and shop environments. This position requires a hands-on technical leader who can balance operational support, infrastructure management, and strategic improvement initiatives.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Please note: The job descriptions may not be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities, etc. of the job; duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to - IT Manager/Supervisor IT Infrastructure & Systems Support Oversee the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud services, and end-user systems across office, project, and fabrication environments Partner with engineering, procurement, fabrication, and project management teams to support technology needs and resolve issues impacting operations Support engineering and design technology platforms, including CAD/BIM, modeling, and document management systems Coordinate installation, maintenance, and upgrades of IT systems to minimize disruption to engineering, production, and project operations Serve as the technical escalation point for critical system and infrastructure incidents Manage relationships with IT vendors, system integrators, and technology providers Organize and supervise daily monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, network infrastructure, and production systems Maintain high system availability and performance for business-critical applications and services Support network infrastructure, including cabling, switching, wireless networks, and connectivity between offices, fabrication facilities, and remote project sites Corporate & Engineering IT Support Manage day-to-day IT support for office staff, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and collaboration platforms Ensure reliable network connectivity, cybersecurity protections, data backups, and system access for all employees Support enterprise business systems, including ERP, finance, HR, procurement, project management, and document control systems Oversee IT asset management, inventory tracking, and technology lifecycle planning Supervise helpdesk activities and ensure timely resolution of user support request Test and deploy software updates, patches, and system upgrades Support collaboration platforms and remote connectivity for distributed project teams Leadership & IT Governance Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and security standards aligned with company best practices Manage IT vendors, service providers, contracts, and service-level agreements Participate in IT budgeting, technology planning, and infrastructure investment decisions Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to internal IT staff or third-party support resources Lead IT initiatives that improve system reliability, user productivity, and operational efficiency Security, Compliance, & Risk Management Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls to protect company networks, intellectual property, and engineering data Ensure compliance with company security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices Support IT audits, documentation, and incident response activities Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies Maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans to support critical business operations Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls to protect company networks, intellectual property, and engineering data Ensure compliance with company security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices Support IT audits, documentation, and incident response activities Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies Maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans to support critical business operations Supervisory Responsibilities Lead and manage internal IT support staff or external support resources Partner with leadership to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing IT team members Ensure IT staff are effectively utilized and aligned with organizational priorities Provide mentoring, training, and professional development opportunities Maintain a collaborative, service-oriented IT culture focused on enabling business successSKILLS/ FUNCTIONAL CONTEMPENCY
The IT Manager / IT Supervisor should demonstrate strong hands-on experience across enterprise IT infrastructure and engineering technology environments, including: Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID administration Hybrid identity, endpoint management, and mobile device management (Intune, MDM) LAN/WAN networking, firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure, and VPN connectivity Network monitoring, cybersecurity tools, and endpoint protection solutions Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and certificate services Backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions (on-premises and cloud-based) Virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V Cloud platforms, including Azure or AWS Engineering and design application support (AutoCAD or similar platforms) ERP and enterprise business systems support IT infrastructure supporting fabrication or industrial environments preferredMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PER JOB LEVEL IT
Manager Manager/Supervisor - Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience 8+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration 4+ years of experience in technology management and leadership Experience supporting engineering firms, EPC organizations, manufacturing, or industrial environments strongly preferred Strong background supporting both corporate IT systems and operational/production environments Experience managing IT vendors, technology budgets, and infrastructure projects Demonstrated ability to support fast-paced, project-driven environments Compensation for this role is determined based on a variety of factors including each candidate's relevant experience, industry background, education, and demonstrated skills.
