Immediately RE-1 Valley School District is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and service-oriented leader to serve as our Director of Information Technology. This position provides leadership for the district's technology infrastructure, student information systems, state reporting, data management, cybersecurity, and technology support operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring reliable technology services while supporting district decision-making through accurate data and reporting.

Position Summary:
The Director of Information Technology provides leadership, administration, and oversight of the District's technology infrastructure in partnership with the District's host company, student information systems, cybersecurity, state reporting, and technology support services. This position serves as the District's primary administrator for Infinite Campus and related student information systems, and directs district technology operations and device cycles, strategic planning, compliance reporting, and systems integration. The Director ensures the reliability, security, and effectiveness of district technology systems while supporting instructional and operational goals through accurate information management, reporting, and technology services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Technology Leadership & Operations Provide leadership and oversight for all district technology systems, infrastructure, devices, networks, cybersecurity, and technology support services. Supervise technology department staff and coordinate district-wide technology support services. Develop and implement district technology plans, priorities, procedures, and best practices. Coordinate with CFO and Assistant Superintendent about hardware and software purchases, licensing, inventory management, and replacement cycles. Manage technology vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements. Oversee technology budgeting and planning processes. Coordinate disaster recovery planning, cybersecurity initiatives, and technology risk management. Maintain District technology inventory Student Information Systems Serve as the district administrator for Infinite Campus and related student information systems and maintain district permissions levels for support staff. Manage user accounts, permissions, security roles, calendars, scheduling structures, course setup, transcripts, gradebooks, attendance systems, and parent portal functionality. Coordinate cross-building enrollment processes and student record management. Manage SASID corrections, duplicate record resolution, household maintenance, and student demographic accuracy. Develop, maintain, and support integrations between district systems and third-party applications. Collaborate with District and building Administrative Assistants to cross-train and streamline District reporting State Reporting & Compliance Coordinate and oversee all Colorado Department of Education reporting collections, including but not limited to: October Count End of Year (EOY) Teacher Student Data Link (TSDL) Student Demographic Student School Association At-Risk Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pupil Enrollment Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness Collections Cross-LEA Reporting Student Discipline and Attendance The list is subject to yearly changes per District requirements Provide validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance. Serve as the primary district contact with the Colorado Department of Education regarding student information collections and reporting requirements. Support district audit preparation, documentation gathering, compliance reviews, and verification processes. Reporting & Analysis Develop and maintain district dashboards, reports, and analysis tools. Create custom reports to support district leadership, building administrators, and program evaluation upon request or as needed. Analyze student, operational, and assessment information to support decision-making. Maintain district information governance standards and procedures. Systems Integration & Process Improvement Develop and maintain automated processes for imports, exports, and system integrations. Coordinate implementation of new software platforms and operational systems. Collaborate with departments to improve workflows, efficiencies, and reporting processes. Evaluate technology solutions and make recommendations for district improvement. Training & Customer Support Provide training and support for district staff related to Infinite Campus, technology systems, reporting tools, and district procedures. Develop district procedures, user guides, and workflow documentation. Serve as a resource for administrators, teachers, office staff, and support personnel. Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for technology and information system issues. Leadership Responsibilities Supervise assigned technology support personnel. Establish performance expectations and evaluate assigned staff. Promote a culture of customer service, continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. In conscientiously conducting his or her affairs, the employee shall exemplify the highest standards of professional commitment. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Education, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Three years of increasingly responsible experience in educational technology, student information systems, reporting, compliance, or a related field. Experience administering a Student Information System. Experience with state reporting, compliance, or educational information management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Infinite Campus. Experience with Colorado Department of Education reporting systems. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Tableau, Power BI, or other reporting platforms. Experience supervising staff. Experience managing technology infrastructure and vendor relationships. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of educational technology systems and student information systems. Knowledge of state and federal student privacy requirements. Ability to analyze complex reporting requirements. Ability to lead projects and coordinate across departments. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Physical Demands and Work Environment Work is primarily performed in an office and school environment. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and computer use. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. May require travel between district facilities. Must be able to manage multiple interruptions and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
