Our organization also includes Impact Christian Academy, a K-12 Christian school, and other ministry and educational initiatives. Technology plays an essential role in how we serve our congregation, students, staff, ministry teams, and communities. We are seeking an experienced and dependable IT professional who can provide strong day-to-day technology leadership, maintain reliable and secure systems, and help ensure our technology environment effectively supports the needs of the organization. Position Overview The IT Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, administration, reliability, and support of the technology environment supporting Impact Church, Impact Christian Academy, and related ministry operations. This is a hands-on technology management role requiring broad experience across network and systems administration, Microsoft environments, cloud services, cybersecurity practices, end-user support, vendor coordination, documentation, and technology projects. The IT Manager will ensure established technology systems and processes operate effectively while identifying risks, opportunities for improvement, and future technology needs for leadership consideration. This individual will work closely with organizational leadership and qualified external technology partners on initiatives requiring specialized architecture, cybersecurity, cloud, or infrastructure expertise. The ideal candidate combines strong technical capability with excellent problem-solving, organization, communication, and customer service skills and enjoys serving as a trusted technology resource across a diverse organization. Key Responsibilities Systems, Network & Infrastructure Management Manage and maintain the organization's day-to-day network, server, storage, and technology environments. Administer Windows and Mac operating environments. Manage Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, access controls, and related system configurations. Monitor system availability, performance, backups, updates, and patch management. Manage endpoint devices and maintain established security and configuration standards. Coordinate routine server upgrades, migrations, equipment replacements, and technology refresh activities. Troubleshoot network, hardware, software, connectivity, and systems issues. Maintain accurate inventory and lifecycle information for technology assets. Microsoft, Cloud & Application Administration Administer Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and related cloud environments within established organizational standards. Manage user accounts, licenses, permissions, and cloud resources. Monitor system performance, licensing, usage, and costs. Support established hybrid cloud environments and integrations. Coordinate with external partners on complex cloud architecture, migrations, or specialized implementations when needed. Support other organizational platforms and technology applications as assigned. Cybersecurity & Data Protection Implement and maintain established cybersecurity policies, controls, and procedures. Manage firewalls, endpoint protection, access controls, security tools, and related safeguards. Monitor systems for potential security concerns and escalate significant risks appropriately. Coordinate vulnerability remediation and security improvements. Maintain and monitor backup processes and data protection systems. Support disaster recovery and business continuity procedures. Partner with leadership and external cybersecurity resources on advanced security assessments, strategy, and specialized initiatives. Promote cybersecurity awareness and responsible technology practices among staff and users. End-User Support & Technology Services Provide responsive technical support to church and school staff. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, account, and application issues. Establish effective processes for receiving, prioritizing, tracking, and resolving technology requests. Configure and deploy computers, mobile devices, peripherals, and other technology equipment. Coordinate technology onboarding and offboarding activities in partnership with Human Resources and organizational leadership. Provide user training and guidance as needed. Ensure technology support reflects a high standard of professionalism, service, and responsiveness. Documentation & Process Management Maintain accurate technical documentation, system diagrams, inventory records, vendor information, procedures, and configuration information. Document recurring technology processes and troubleshooting procedures. Maintain current disaster recovery and business continuity documentation. Identify opportunities to improve technology workflows and operational efficiency. Help reduce organizational dependency on undocumented or individual technical knowledge. Vendor & Technology Partner Coordination Serve as the primary operational point of contact for technology vendors and service providers. Monitor vendor performance and escalate service concerns as needed. Coordinate vendor support, renewals, installations, maintenance, and service activities. Obtain quotes and make technology purchasing recommendations. Support leadership with vendor evaluations and contract reviews. Coordinate external technical resources for specialized projects and services. Technology Purchasing & Budget Support Monitor routine technology expenditures and licensing costs. Maintain visibility into upcoming hardware replacements, renewals, and technology needs. Assist leadership in preparing annual technology budget recommendations. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and control technology costs. Prepare recommendations and supporting information for proposed technology purchases and investments. Project Coordination & Implementation Manage routine technology projects from planning through implementation. Develop project timelines, coordinate resources, track deliverables, and communicate progress. Support cross-functional projects involving technology components. Implement approved infrastructure, system, cloud, and security improvements. Coordinate with external technology partners on projects requiring specialized expertise. Escalate significant project risks, resource needs, or strategic decisions to leadership. Technology Planning & Continuous Improvement Regularly assess the effectiveness, reliability, and performance of existing technology systems. Identify emerging needs, risks, system limitations, and opportunities for improvement. Provide recommendations to leadership regarding future technology priorities. Participate in technology planning discussions and assist with implementation of approved priorities. Stay current on relevant technology and cybersecurity trends affecting the organization. Volunteer Leadership & Development Recruit, schedule, train, and coordinate technology volunteers as appropriate. Provide technical guidance, coaching, and documentation to volunteers. Establish clear expectations and processes for volunteer technology support. Foster a collaborative, service-oriented, and productive team environment Required Qualifications Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive information technology experience , with hands-on responsibility for systems, networks, infrastructure, or cloud environments. Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft environments, including Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Azure . Experience supporting Windows environments; familiarity with Mac environments strongly preferred. Working knowledge of networks, servers, firewalls, endpoints, backups, access controls, and cybersecurity practices. Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues across hardware, software, network, and systems environments. Experience supporting end users within a professional organization. Experience implementing technology projects or system improvements. Strong documentation and process-management skills. Experience working with technology vendors or managed service providers. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical users and leaders. Ability to independently manage competing priorities while recognizing when issues should be escalated. High degree of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when managing sensitive systems and organizational information. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered. Relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Cisco, CompTIA, networking, cybersecurity, or related technologies. Experience supporting a multi-site organization. Experience supporting both business and educational technology environments. Experience working with external managed service providers, cybersecurity firms, or technology consultants. Experience coordinating or developing technical volunteers or team members. Experience within a church, school, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization.
