To accomplish these tasks, the Systems Manager must work closely with the staff and administration of USD 230. Benefits Fringe benefits as scheduled by the Board of Education. 12 Sick Days leave per year, accumulative to seventy (70) days 1 Day Personal leave per year, un-accumulative. One (1) additional personal day may be taken and deducted from sick leave. 2 Days Bereavement leave per year, un-accumulative. One (1) other bereavement day may be taken and deducted from sick leave. Vacation .83 days per month = 10 days per year (1-5 years of employment, 15 days per year (6 + years of employment) 13 paid holidays Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Completion or substantial completion toward a college degree. Experience with emerging technologies and networks. Knowledge of Windows, Mac,iPad, & Chrome operating system software, basic networking, and related equipment. Must have specific knowledge of Windows, Mac OS, iPad IOS, and related management platforms. Valid Driver's License. Desire to continue professional growth. Physical Requirements & Conditions Requires prolonged sitting or standing. Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials. Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching. Must work in noisy and crowded environments. Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors. General Responsibilities Maintain district computing devices and related peripheral devices in top condition to ensure full and productive use of district technology. Guide and support the Systems Technicians to ensure they can successfully perform their duties. Ensure that all activities conform to district guidelines. Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community. React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned. Appropriately operate all equipment and machinery as necessary. Support the value of an education. Support the philosophy and vision of USD 230 Essential Functions Maintain our Windows, Mac, iPad, & Chrome devices, including all operating system software, applications, and all peripherals. Test, determine when, and deploy upgrades and patches as needed for end user device operating systems, drivers, etc. Create & deploy device images/updates for all devices as needed and at least once per each year. Create, maintain, and recommend for approval all district wide application and patch deployment. Create, maintain, and deploy application packaging/distribution processes. Monitor virus, spam, spyware, and other malicious concerns on the end user devices. Conduct detailed inspections of district technology devices. Work closely with the Systems Technicians to establish and oversee the maintenance and repair of district technology. Work with the USD 230 Technology Staff to maintain and deploy software as needed within the district. Work with the USD 230 Technology Staff to recommend and maintain suitable technology related supplies, parts, tools, and equipment. Recommend outside service when needed to the Director of Technology. Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all technology maintenance and repair projects. See that district policies are observed at all times. Document all processes and procedures. Keep abreast of new technology-related information, innovative ideas, techniques, and software upgrades. Support & direct the day to day duties of the Systems Technicians. Adhere to all district health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan. Assist the USD 230 Technology Staff in conducting in-service meetings and staff meetings as required. Develop a system for dealing with emergency repair problems. Instruct students in the use, maintenance, and installation of technology related hardware and software. Install and conduct training in commercial application programs, local software applications, operating system software, and system hardware utilization. Be available as the contact person for USD 230 Technology Staff and Building Support Personnel. Keep the Director of Technology informed of any concerns or problems. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendent of Schools, and/or the Director of Technology.
