Job Description

The Team We are seeking an experienced IT Category Manager to join American Tower's Supply Chain team. The team strategically sources quality materials, services, and technologies at the lowest total cost while enabling effective and efficient purchasing solutions and enhancing supplier partnerships. You will play a critical role in managing IT sourcing strategies supplier relationships, and contract negotiations for key IT categories. The IT Category Manager will deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions to support our IT organization's mission of leading the industry. What You Need to Succeed Bachelor's degree required; concentration in Engineering, Business, or Supply Management preferred. Between 6-8 years of progressive experience in sourcing/procurement in a supply chain or strategic sourcing team required. Experience supporting supplier relationships and managing assigned engagements within established contracts. Intermediate skill level with MS Office Suite and advanced skill level with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint required. Experience with procurement platforms (e.g., Oracle, Salesforce). Experience supporting negotiations and contributing to value creation in supplier engagements. Professional certifications strongly preferred (Certified Property Manager, Certified Professional in Supply Management, or Certified in Planning and Inventory Management). Approximately 5% travel may be required to support the position's responsibilities. Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively. Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results. Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment. What You Can Offer Us Provide expertise to IT leaders to ensure broad alignment on cost management, including sourcing and demand optimization opportunities. Lead procurement for SaaS, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Support negotiation activities, including preparation, analysis, and execution for assigned agreements. Lead sourcing initiatives across their lifecycle, including strategy development, market engagement, supplier evaluation, and coordination through contracting and implementation Partner with IT, Legal, Finance, and other departments to align procurement with business needs ensure effective coordination of sourcing and contracting activities. Implement process improvements and use data to optimize both Supplier' performances and supply chain strategies. Drive consistency and scalability in sourcing practices by establishing structured approaches to managing demand, supplier engagement, and cross-functional coordination. Conduct business reviews with strategic suppliers, measure performance, and establish plans for continuous improvements. Prepare analytics, metrics, and dashboards to demonstrate business problems, solutions, and benefits for the supplier management team. Ensure that agreements' terms and conditions are thoroughly reviewed and documented and that risks are mitigated. Oversee the maintenance and inventory of technology contract data including the support, warranty, lease, maintenance and software contract and license information. Other duties as assigned.
