Change Manager, IT PMO at Horizontal Talent Change Manager, IT PMO at Horizontal Talent in Minneapolis, Minnesota Posted in 3 days ago. $41.00 - $78.00 per hour Join a dynamic IT PMO team as a Change Manager focused on organizational readiness, adoption, and user acceptance testing for enterprise technology initiatives. This remote contract role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of change management, communication, and hands-on delivery support. Responsibilities Lead organizational change management activities that support smooth technology transitions and strong user adoption. Assess how system and process changes will affect day-to-day operations across business teams. Develop and coordinate communication plans, messaging, and readiness materials that help employees understand and embrace change. Create and support training resources such as job aids, user guides, and other adoption materials. Build and engage a network of champions and super-users to support peer adoption and post-launch assistance. Own user acceptance testing activities from planning through execution, including test case development and scheduling. Partner with subject matter experts to coordinate testing cycles and serve as the main point of contact. Track, document, and prioritize defects while working closely with project and development teams to support resolution. Support system sign-off by establishing exit criteria and preparing clear status and decision-ready reports. Monitor adoption and readiness measures to help assess training effectiveness and post-launch success. Skills Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year program. At least 8 years of change management experience, with 10+ years of professional experience in organizational change or a closely related field preferred. 5+ years of experience working in information technology. Background in project implementation and change management within a complex organization. Hands-on experience as a change manager, with the ability to execute both strategic and tactical work. Experience supporting UAT activities, including test planning, coordination, and defect management. Strong communication skills, including writing, presenting, and tailoring messages for different audiences. Ability to influence others, build relationships, and work effectively across teams and levels of an organization. Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into practical solutions. Experience using change management and communications methodologies, such as Prosci or similar approaches. Comfort working with diverse teams across functions, locations, and cultures. General knowledge of IT systems and the change impacts associated with technology delivery. Preferred Skills Experience in a large or enterprise-level environment. Knowledge of communications assessment techniques and related tools. Experience driving business requirements gathering and supporting requirements definition. Ability to coach and guide cross-functional teams through change and testing cycles. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
