The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of medical records, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and healthcare IT infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the accuracy, security, and compliance of health information while supporting clinical staff with efficient data management practices. The HIM Manager/IT will play a pivotal role in maintaining regulatory adherence, optimizing record workflows, and safeguarding patient confidentiality. Duties Manage the organization, accuracy, and security of medical records and health information in compliance with healthcare privacy protection regulations. Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to ensure seamless clinical documentation. Ensure adherence to health information regulatory compliance standards and hospital policies related to medical records management. Supervise health information staff, providing training on medical terminology, records management, and clinical confidentiality policies. Collaborate with clinical departments to improve workflow efficiencies related to health information management and revenue cycle processes. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health regulation policies and implement necessary updates within the organization's health information practices. Support medical coding activities to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement processes aligned with healthcare regulations. Conduct regular audits of medical records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with privacy laws. Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting, documentation, and data analysis related to health information metrics. Requirements Proven experience in health information management within a healthcare setting, including familiarity with medical office operations. Strong knowledge of health regulation policies, healthcare privacy laws, and regulatory compliance standards such as HIPAA. Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and EMR/EHR management software - PCC. Excellent understanding of medical terminology, medical coding procedures, and revenue cycle management processes. Demonstrated ability to manage records effectively while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies. Experience with healthcare IT infrastructure, including system implementation and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data reporting and documentation purposes. Exceptional customer service skills to support clinical staff and administrative teams efficiently.
