Watertown, NY Summary:

This is a hands-on technical owner responsible for the day-to-day operation, reliability, security, and performance of the network infrastructure and business-critical systems. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for assigned infrastructure platforms, partnering with IT Specialists and managed service providers to complete work when needed.

Responsibilities:

Own the day-to-day operation of all servers by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair Plan and perform routine system maintenance and patching; coordinate scheduling and execution with IT Specialists and vendors as needed Own and manage the network and all related components across various sites, including switching/VLANs, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and site-to-site VPNs Help define and implement company standards for the selection, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management of business-critical systems, network infrastructure, and software Maintain compliance with software licensing, and software/hardware support agreements Maintain records of system downtime and equipment malfunction Coordinate with managed services providers and IT Specialists on troubleshooting, monitoring, and updating systems and software Maintain availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission-critical resources Update, maintain, and test (annually) disaster recovery plans and procedures Provide guidance, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to IT Specialists and other team members; document standards and procedures On call for after-hours issues

Required Skills and Experience:

5+ years of experience administering and supporting Windows server environments and network infrastructure. Strong working knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server 2019 or later). Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V. Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users

Salary:
