Job Description
Job Overview The purpose of this position is to assist with the County's information technology infrastructure, implement the County's information technology strategic plans, policies and procedures, and maintain network and data security, in addition to assisting the IT Director in overseeing the day to day operations of the IT Department. Duties Researches and investigates new equipment, data processing, storage systems, and security solutions upon request; develop and monitors performance measures for projects; assists with planning, implementation and management of projects; participates and assists with the requests for proposal process; manages ongoing support for current applications; establishes and maintains professional relationships with consultants and vendors. Trains and guides staff; assists in overseeing and monitoring help desk activities and serves as mentor to staff; assists with maintaining help desk metrics; identifies trends and recurring issues; makes recommendations for employee training; ensures quality of help desk services through periodic satisfaction surveys. Assists the IT Director with the management of the day-to-day operations of the IT Department and serves in the absence of the Director Assists in the planning and organization of workloads and staff assignments; reviews and standardizes work procedures; approves leave requests and timesheets in the Director's absence. Stays current on new IT technology infrastructure, systems, applications, and security protocols; Provides input and recommendations to the IT Director for all County information technology annual budgets; participates in the forecasting of budgets for staffing, equipment, services, and information technology related items. Attends Data Processing Board meetings and makes presentations as requested; provides training and coordinates training efforts as needed. Troubleshoots and resolves computer hardware, software, and peripheral problems remotely and in person Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or closely related field; supplemented by five (5) years of information technology experience, with at least three (3) years in a leadership role; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Requires a valid driver's license. Experience in governmental IT operations is highly desirable; Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Various certifications are preferred; Microsoft, Cisco, or other relevant technical certifications are preferred.
Pay:
$97,492.63 - $116,989.93 per yearBenefits:
