Summary:
The Technical Services Manager will collaborate with company employees, customers, and suppliers to provide technical and oil analysis lab services. This position is responsible for internal and external customer satisfaction, expense control, and the overall performance of the Technical Services Department. This individual will conduct related training as required, provide leadership, and direct the Technical Services Department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Supervises the Technical Services staff, including Technical Communicators, the Oil Analysis Lab Lead Technician, and the Technical Services Coordinator. Creates the Technical Services and Oil Analysis Lab budget, oversees department expenditures, and evaluates spending. Supports the achievement of annual company and Caterpillar objectives. Leads reporting of actions and results related to tasks, objectives, and metrics. Maintains, leads, and presents Quarterly and Annual Product Problem Management for Caterpillar products and services. Leads failure analysis and other product investigations, reporting, and presenting to the company, customers, and Caterpillar. Oversees the Oil Analysis Lab operations, leads and presents lab objectives, reports, and guidance to customers, the company, and Caterpillar as required. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; A college degree or continuing education in a related field is preferred. Must have five or more years of relevant experience and five or more years of supervisory experience in the construction or power equipment industry is preferred. Experience providing leadership and direction to others is required. Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication, time management, computer, organization, planning, listening, budgeting, and problem-solving skills are required. Must be able to collaborate with others internally and externally to achieve company goals. Mechanical aptitude or technical skills are strongly preferred.

Compensation:
Base pay, annual bonus potential, and company success share bonuses
Physical Requirements:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
