Full Job Description Position:
IT Director Position Type:
Contract-to-Hire (6-month contract before conversion to direct employment)
Compensation:
Competitive compensation commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package and generous PTO.
Location:
Oklahoma City, OK (fully onsite, with regular travel between locations)
Job Summary:
Archon Resources is partnering with a well-established Oklahoma City-area employer to identify a hands-on IT Director who will lead all aspects of technology operations across a multi-site organization. This is a unique opportunity to shape the in-house IT function for an organization that offers strong stability, an excellent benefits package, and meaningful runway for an IT leader to make a real impact. The IT Director will own infrastructure, end-user support, network operations, security, and vendor management across multiple locations in the metro area. The role is highly hands-on day-to-day with clear runway to grow the function and build out a small team over time.
Responsibilities:
Manage Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file and print services Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Entra ID (Azure AD) Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure including LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, switches, and wireless Provide hands-on, approachable IT support to staff at all technical comfort levels across multiple locations Lead IT projects including cloud migrations, system upgrades, and new technology rollouts Develop and execute a strategic IT roadmap aligned with the organization's growth and priorities Manage endpoint security, patching, backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity Evaluate and manage vendor relationships, IT contracts, and the IT budget Train staff on new systems with patience and clarity
Education and Certifications:
Relevant IT certifications strongly preferred (Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, or equivalent) Degree preferred but not required for the right experience
Qualifications and Requirements:
Proven experience as an IT Director, IT Manager, or Senior Systems Administrator Hands-on experience with Windows Server environments and Microsoft 365 administration Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V or VMware) preferred Experience leading or contributing to cloud migration projects preferred Familiarity with security best practices and identity and access management Patient, supportive communication style with end users at all comfort levels Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills Background check and fingerprinting required
