Systems Administrator Job Type:
Full-time Job Summary We are partnering with a local business to find a hands-on IT Manager to take full ownership of their technology infrastructure. You will manage a Microsoft-centric environment (Active Directory, O365) and oversee connectivity for the main office and multiple remote sites via VPN. This is an ideal position for a skilled generalist who enjoys getting to work in all areas of IT for a business. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Network Management
    Network Administration:
    Manage the complete network architecture, including switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
      Multi-Site Connectivity:
      Maintain and troubleshoot Site-to-Site VPN tunnels connecting remote branches to the headquarters. Monitor bandwidth and latency to ensure seamless remote operations.
        Server Administration:
        Manage on-premise physical and virtual servers, specifically maintaining the Windows Server environment, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file server
        • Microsoft 365
        Administration:
        Fully manage the O365 tenant, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive. Handle user provisioning, licensing, and security policies (MFA). Support & Operations
          Help Desk Leadership:
          Serve as the final escalation point for technical issues. Provide remote support for off-site employees and hands-on desktop support for HQ staff.
            Security & Backups:
            Manage antivirus/EDR solutions, patch management (Windows Updates), and disaster recovery plans. Ensure backups are running and tested regularly.
              Vendor Management:
              Act as the primary liaison for ISPs and vendors. Handle procurement of hardware (laptops, peripherals) and software. Qualifications & Technical Skills Required Technical Skills
                Windows Server:
                Deep knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
                  Networking:
                  Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs (Site-to-Site and Client VPNs), and Firewall configuration (e.g., Fortinet, SonicWall, Meraki, or Cisco).
                  • Microsoft 365: Experience managing an O365 tenant, specifically Exchange Online and Teams.
                  File Systems:
                  Experience managing mapped drives, file shares, and resolving permission conflicts. Soft Skills & Management
                  • Ability to translate technical concepts into plain English for business leadership.
                  • Strong documentation skills (creating network diagrams, asset inventories, and how-to guides).
                  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently without day-to-day technical supervision. Education & Experience
                  • 3+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator or IT Manager role.
                  Physical Requirements:
                  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment (up to 50 lbs) such as servers, UPS units, and printers.
                  • Ability to travel to remote sites on occasion (if applicable).
                  Working Conditions:
                  • This role requires occasional after-hours maintenance windows for server patching/reboots to minimize business disruption.

                  $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
