Job Description
Healthcare IT Project Manager - ApplicationsPosition SummaryThe Healthcare IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects related to enterprise healthcare applications across the organization. This role ensures that clinical, operational, and administrative systems are implemented and optimized to support patient care, improve workflows, and enhance organizational efficiency.
The Project Manager works closely with clinical leadership, IT teams, and business stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and user satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & ExecutionLead end-to-end project management for healthcare application initiatives, including:
Electronic Health Records (EHR)Practice Management SystemsRevenue Cycle ApplicationsPACS, RIS, Laboratory, and Pharmacy systemsPatient engagement and population health platformsDevelop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
Manage scope, risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple projects.
Tool & Process ManagementUtilize Monday.
Ensure consistent use of project management tools across teams.
Clinical Workflow AlignmentWork closely with clinicians and end users to:
Understand workflow requirementsIdentify opportunities for process improvementEnsure solutions are practical, efficient, and support patient care delivery.
Risk & Issue ManagementIdentify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
Manage and escalate issues as needed to ensure project continuity.
Maintain risk and issue logs with clear ownership and resolution timelines.
Vendor & Resource CoordinationCoordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure successful delivery.
Track vendor performance against deliverables and timelines.
Assist in contract and scope alignment with external partners.
Operational Readiness & Go-Live SupportCoordinate testing, training, and go-live readiness activities.
Support deployment planning, including:
End-user trainingCommunication strategiesOn-site support modelsEnsure smooth transitions from project implementation to operational support.
