The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. As an Application Manager , you will provide day-to-day leadership for an application team while overseeing the planning, design, build, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of assigned healthcare applications. This role serves as both a people leader and application leader, partnering closely with operational leaders, subject matter experts, IT teams, education teams, and application vendors to ensure application functionality supports organizational workflows and business needs. As an Application Manager, a typical day may include: Lead, coach, and develop a team of application analysts through regular meetings, 1:1s, feedback, mentoring, and performance management Oversee application design, configuration, testing, implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and optimization activities Partner with operational leaders and subject matter experts to translate business needs into application requirements and solutions Analyze current-state workflows, data, reporting, and integration needs and help design optimized future-state processes Serve as a key liaison between customers, operational leadership, IT teams, and application vendors Manage application upgrades and releases, including design decisions, testing, change control, operational readiness, and training needs Oversee incidents and enhancement requests, identify trends and risks, coordinate escalations, and ensure timely resolution Lead application projects, meetings, status reporting, timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination Ensure Operations and subject matter experts are engaged in application design, configuration, testing, implementation, and training Support organizational transformation by communicating priorities, managing change, resolving barriers, and aligning application initiatives with business goals This Role Might Be For You If You enjoy leading, coaching, and developing application or technical teams You have experience with complex healthcare information systems or enterprise applications You understand how clinical, financial, or operational workflows connect to application design You can translate operational challenges into system requirements and technology solutions You are comfortable partnering with senior leaders, SMEs, vendors, and technical teams You have experience managing application projects, implementations, upgrades, or optimization initiatives You are skilled at identifying root causes, evaluating risks, and developing solutions You can balance people leadership with technical and operational responsibilities You are comfortable leading teams and stakeholders through system and workflow changes You are organized, adaptable, collaborative, and effective in a complex healthcare environment To Be Considered for the Application Manager position, you must have: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience Leadership experience involving the implementation of financial or clinical information systems and/or the large-scale, complex standardization and implementation of an enterprise EHR or application suite Why You'll Love working with us: At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees' physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
