Job Description
Role:
Enterprise Records Manager Essential Job Functions:
Manages enterprise records program. (Collaborates with departmental records administrators, Office of the County Attorney, and information management staff to develop new technology solutions, policies, and procedures for records management programs, including improvement of their manual records management system.) Contributes towards Division budget. (Researches and obtains program pricing needs in order to contribute towards the annual Division budget; monitors budget to ensure expenditures to not exceed budget.) Defines business process and requirements. (Collaborates with IT staff and department stakeholders to ensure enterprise content management and collaboration tools are leveraged in records management.) Assists With Development of Strategic Plans. (Assists with planning the short and long- term strategic direction of the department.
Job Tasks:
Advises senior managers on adequacy of documentation and creation and management of county records, keeping senior management informed on current and projected operational requirements, issues, legislative, and regulatory matters. Coordinates with program managers throughout the County to ensure records creation, maintenance, use, and disposition are in accordance with this guidance and the Federal Records Act. Promotes effective records management throughout the County. Works with department leadership to build records management functionality into the enterprise architecture and to ensure all information systems incorporate records management functionality appropriate to the records/information assets supported. Consults with department leadership to ensure that records management technology in use is consistent with County enterprise architecture. Oversees work performed by contractors and employees in support of enterprise records management and electronic discovery activities. Participates in department capital planning process for all major information systems to ensure that records management functionality appropriate to the records/information assets support is included in the system design. Advises program managers and IT managers on applicable metadata requirements. Creates documentation and presentations for departmental staff and the Board of Supervisors. Communicates and collaborates with internal and external customers to overcome challenges and manage expectations. Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with project sponsors and key systems users; helps users in prioritizing new projects; and works with all levels of IT managers, and with technology vendors as required. Coordinates activities with other departments and work groups as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field 5 + years of related experience demonstrating the job tasks illustrated, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Job Type:
