Job Description We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives across Pismo's core banking, card issuing, and payments platforms.
This is a highly technical program leadership role requiring deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, APIs, distributed systems, banking platforms, and payment processing. The TPM will drive execution across engineering, product, architecture, SRE, client delivery, and operations teams to ensure successful delivery of strategic platform initiatives and Tier-1 client programs.
The ideal candidate can engage equally with engineers discussing microservices and event-driven architectures, while also communicating risks, dependencies, and delivery plans to executive stakeholders and clients.
All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) to support everyday work.
Drive execution of strategic initiatives from concept through production rollout.
Establish and maintain program plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and success criteria.
Provide clear visibility to leadership on delivery status, blockers, and mitigation plans.
Technical DeliveryPartner with Engineering, Product, and Architecture teams to ensure scalable and resilient solutions.
Understand and challenge technical designs, architecture trade-offs, and implementation plans.
Drive alignment on technical requirements, NFRs, operational readiness, scalability, security, and resiliency objectives.
Identify integration, performance, reliability, and operational risks early in the lifecycle.
Cross-Functional CoordinationCoordinate activities across Product Management, Engineering, SRE, Architecture, Client Delivery, Compliance, and Operations teams.
Drive accountability and resolution of cross-team dependencies.
Facilitate planning, execution, release readiness, and post-launch reviews.
Ensure alignment between business objectives and engineering execution.
Client-Facing Program ExecutionSupport strategic client initiatives involving large financial institutions and enterprise customers.
Drive readiness for major client launches, platform migrations, and production rollouts.
Communicate technical and delivery risks effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
Operational ExcellenceLead risk management, issue resolution, and escalation processes.
Establish metrics and reporting to improve delivery predictability and execution quality.
This is a remote position . A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice. #
Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and SAFe frameworks.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, and program management tooling.
Familiarity with active-active architectures, disaster recovery, resiliency testing, and non-functional requirements.
Strong understanding of Cloud-native architectures, Distributed systems and microservices, REST APIs and event-driven systems, Public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), CI/CD and modern software delivery practicesExpertise in risk management, dependency management, and stakeholder alignment.
Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
Demonstrated success influencing outcomes without direct authority.
Background in software engineering, computer science, or systems architecture.
Experience supporting Tier-1 banks, payment processors, or global fintech platforms.

LI-Remote Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.Preferred Qualifications:
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD8+ years of technical program management, engineering management, or software delivery leadership experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)Advanced English proficiencyExperience working with global, distributed engineering teamsExperience with highly regulated financial environments.Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and SAFe frameworks.
