They are not flexible. You must currently reside in South Carolina. This role does not offer relocation assistance and out of state applicants are not being considered. If your location is outside South Carolina, please do not apply. This role is 100% on-site in Columbia, SC, five days a week. There is no remote option, no hybrid option, and no partial telework. Interviews are conducted in person, not over video. About the role A state agency in Columbia is adding a Senior IT Project Manager on a twelve month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension. What you will be doing You will manage four to five initiatives at the same time, and most of them begin well before any system is built. The work spans solicitation and vendor selection, contract negotiation, acquisition, implementation, data migration, archival, and the retirement of legacy applications. Full lifecycle, procurement through sunset.

Current initiatives include:

A mortgage servicing and mortgage production technology solution A development and compliance monitoring technology solution A contract administration technology solution Organization wide business continuity A space needs assessment evaluating facility requirements for a potential new location Day to day you will build and defend schedules, control scope, run status and review meetings for stakeholders at every level of the agency, produce and maintain project documentation, and identify risks early enough to do something about them. Some projects run waterfall, some run Agile, and you will decide which approach fits and be able to defend the call. Required qualifications Current South Carolina residency. No relocation, no exceptions. Ability to work on-site in Columbia, SC five days a week 5+ years of IT project management experience, including budget and stakeholder ownership 3+ years managing projects in a hybrid environment using both Agile and waterfall 3+ years in strategic planning and roadmap development 3+ years in risk management 3+ years in resource management 3+ years in change management 3+ years in budget planning Bachelor's degree in business management, information technology, or a related field. The degree must be complete and verifiable PMP, PMI-ACP, or CSM certification Authorization to work in the US on our W2 Preferred qualifications Experience with mortgage, lending, or loan servicing systems Working knowledge of financial and accounting principles Demonstrated process improvement work Strong facilitation, presentation, and written communication skills Employment terms This position is W2 only.
