IT Project Manager III - Technical PM AWS

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) to support architecture and platform delivery initiatives within a cloud-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of software development and cloud architecture, along with experience managing complex technical programs, Agile delivery processes, and cross-functional engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Manage the intake, prioritization, tracking, and delivery of architecture and platform-related initiatives. Partner with architects, senior developers, and DevOps teams to plan and execute technical projects and strategic initiatives. Lead delivery efforts related to platform modernization, cloud migration, and security enhancement projects. Translate technical requirements into clear project scopes, timelines, milestones, and delivery plans. Identify project risks, dependencies, constraints, and tradeoffs, and implement proactive mitigation strategies. Facilitate Agile ceremonies and technical planning sessions including backlog refinement, intake reviews, and sprint planning activities. Provide Agile coaching and guidance to development teams to improve delivery effectiveness and team collaboration. Partner with engineering leadership to identify process improvements, remove bottlenecks, and enhance delivery predictability and quality. Coordinate communication between technical teams, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure project alignment and transparency. Support continuous improvement initiatives within technical delivery and project management processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager, Technical Program Manager, or in a related technical leadership role. Strong technical foundation with knowledge of software development methodologies and cloud architecture principles. Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with AWS cloud services and cloud-native technologies. Experience working directly with architects, senior engineers, and DevOps teams. Proven experience coaching or leading teams using Agile methodologies. Strong understanding of project management principles, technical delivery processes, and cross-functional collaboration. Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management abilities. Preferred Qualifications Prior software development or engineering experience. Experience within airline, travel, or transportation industries. Familiarity with distributed systems, APIs, data platforms, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience supporting architecture governance, platform teams, or technology standards initiatives. Experience working in Agile, hybrid-Agile, or scaled delivery environments.
