The team is seeking a senior content creator to own modeling, animation, and visualization for technical content.
This is a hands-on role:
you will take CAD, photos, and loose design guidance and turn them into accurate, production-ready 3D assets, animations, and motion graphics. You will also help the video pipeline — editing, graphics, and occasional shooting — so 3D and live-action ship as one coherent story. 3D is the primary craft; video is a regular supporting responsibility, not a side hobby. What You'll Do Model, texture, light, and animate 3D assets from CAD, photography, and design reference to produce technical visualizations, exploded views, and product animations Build efficient assets in Blender (3DS Max or Unreal) — simplifying complex CAD, re-topologizing, UV mapping, surfacing, and rendering for video, documentation, and training Create motion graphics and 3D sequences that explain systems, procedures, and product behavior across Energy Storage, Charging, and Solar Render, composite, and deliver 3D as finished technical video, from storyboard through final output Operate cameras to capture technical footage on site and in studio — framing, exposure, lighting, and audio for product, procedure, and facility shoots Support the video team with editing, graphics, and post-production (Premiere Pro, and After Effects) plus partner with technical writers, designers, and subject matter experts to translate engineering intent into clear visual storytelling Apply AI tools and workflows across 3D, image, and video production — asset cleanup, lookdev, rotoscoping, transcription, draft generation, and other tasks that shorten the path from reference to shippable content Evaluate new AI tools, standardize what works, and document workflows the rest of the team can reuse Own 3D workflows, asset libraries, and quality standards; document how work is built and review contributions in your space What You'll Bring Degree in 3D, Animation, Industrial Design, Film/Video, or equivalent experience Strong portfolio as a 3D generalist: modeling, texturing, lighting, animation, and rendered output — technical/product visualization and motion graphics Proficiency in Blender, 3ds Max or Unreal Engine; Blender strongly preferred Experience simplifying CAD or engineering data for visualization (retopo, UVs, lookdev) Working proficiency in video editing and motion graphics (Premiere Pro, and After Effects) Experience filming or supporting production is a plus; shooting is occasional, not the core of the role Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable working with engineers and SMEs Fast learner who thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment An eye for accuracy, clarity, and polish in technical visual work Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $80,000 - $156,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
