The Core Network Services Operations team keeps Apple's world-class MPLS backbone network running smoothly and efficiently. We are a global community of engineers who operate the diverse technology, protocol, and vendor stack that interconnects all facets of Apple's network at a scale that is second to none. We're seeking an enthusiastic and passionate person to join a dynamic and exciting team within Apple's Global Networking Services. You will be skilled in cross-organizational collaboration, liaising with our internal teams and external service providers to operate and maintain the network infrastructure. In addition, you will be expected to develop and maintain clear documentation and procedures associated with operations and known issues. This position provides the opportunity to operate a cutting-edge, worldwide, multi-vendor network.

DescriptionIn this fast paced role, you will provide front line support for Apple's MPLS backbone network; its extensive DC, Edge, and Internet connectivity; and its underlying metro and long-haul optical transport networks to address a wide variety of business challenges. You will be comfortable in a dynamic environment with the ability to multi-task and provide operational support to various operational teams and implementation groups within Apple to resolve critical network related issues.

This position requires a collaborative teammate with excellent written and verbal communication skills who will enjoy working with others around the globe to maintain the networking infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include working on tickets and break fixes, taking escalations from and mentoring junior team members, developing network automation playbooks, maintaining and upgrading existing networks to current standards, coordinating peering expansions, and contributing to technical and procedural documentation.
