Job Description

Meta's global network, comprised of cutting-edge platforms, is looking for a Network Engineering Manager to join the Backbone and Edge Engineering team focused on our Software Defined Express Backbone Network. This team is responsible for designing, implementing and supporting one of the world's largest and most cutting edge networks. In this role, you will work closely with other engineers with a wide variety of deep technical expertise in software, systems, IP, and Optical networking to drive forward innovation and expansion of our network.
Qualifications:
Experience managing a networking-related software engineering team Knowledge of networking and distributed systems Experience in network management systems for large-scale networks BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience Experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management and managing engineers Knowledge of networking fundamentals Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) Knowledge of network topology and capacity planning methodologies Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies Experience in software development and engineering for network control and management 6+ years experience in program management or product management Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) 4+ years managing MPLS and RSVP-TE based networks
