Job Description
Job Description Day-to-Day:
Insight Global is looking for a Network Engineer II for one of our clients in the Sacramento area. This person will be responsible for working on outages that they client experiences in Sacramento; however they are wanting you to take a proactive approach and be looking at analytics consistently to see where switch replacements need to be made. The engineer will also interact with vendors and customers to evaluate and implement projects that enhance the university's data, voice, and video networking infrastructure. Additionally, the position includes generating documentation, providing technical resolutions, and assisting in the development of technical standards. Job Responsibilities- Explores, identifies, evaluates, enables, and promotes existing and emerging networking and telecommunications services.
- Acquires, oversees installation, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots the University's data and voice infrastructure and is primary backup for PBX, voicemail, call accounting and other voice related systems Assists with management of network performance by periodically base-lining capacity and performance and projecting resource usage
- Defines, plans, schedules, and coordinates "moves, adds or changes"
- Serve as project technical lead through: o Planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones o Estimating the resources and participants needed to achieve project goal o Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirement documentation, technical training sessions, and presentations.
- Produce and continue improvement of networking/telecommunications documents including asset inventory, LAN/WAN diagrams, SOPs, and training materials.
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves network problems using a variety of monitoring tools.
- Maintain and upgrades networking and telecommunications hardware and software.
- Read architectural plans
- Prepare proposals and designs for networking and telecommunications projects.
- Deliver customer and IT partner Networking/Telecommunications technology end-user/administrator training.
- Log support requests and issues reported into a central database and maintain their updates.
- Generate reports, analyze trends in issues, and contribute to the design and implementation of permanent resolution to issues.
- Occasionally travel to Stockton to help when needed there
Compensation:
$40/hr to $45/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law. - 5+ years' experience within networking/telecommunications o Experience with administering Cisco ASA or Palo Alto Firewall o Experience administering Cisco wireless infrastructure o Prior experience working with Aruba o Familiarity with cabling

- High school diploma and 60+ credit hours of continuing education OR Bachelor's degree
