The Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Infrastructure Team is seeking a Network Engineer to design, build, and sustain the ground‑station platform that supports both SBIRS and the Next‑Gen

ground stations. In this role you will work closely with software, security, and mission engineers to deliver ultra‑reliable, secure, and scalable ground‑systems that enable continuous infrared surveillance and missile‑warning capabilities for legacy and next‑generation satellite constellations.As Network Engineer you will:
- Design and plan network communications systems.
- Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
- Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- Conduct testing of network design.
- Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
- Deep knowledge of
OSI/TCP/IP
Models, Layer 2/3 technologies (VLAN, OSPF, BGP), and hands on experience with either Cisco/Juniper Devices (both preferred)- Familiarity with one or more of the following: DISA STIGs, COMSEC, and/or TACLANEs
- Active Security+ CE (or equivalent IAT Level II) required or ability to obtain within 60-90 days.
- Active Secret clearance is required prior to start and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance ## Desired Skills
- Multi‑vendor switching/routing expertise (Juniper, Cisco) with certifications i.e. CCNA, JNCIA. or higher
- Experience with SDN such as Cisco ACI or Juniper Apstra
- Experience with network automation tools such as ansible
- Exposure to virtualization technologies i.e. VMware, vSAN
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile scrum environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio.
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range:
