Job Description

Our client, a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking a Principal Engineer to join their team. As a Principal Engineer, you will be part of the Network Operations Department supporting wireless infrastructure and network automation teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay Range:
$125-185K, based on experience What's the Job? Serve as the deployment gate — review and approve technical plans from Tier 2 engineers before deployment. Own a platform domain — act as the final technical authority for wireless controllers, AAA/RADIUS, firewalls, and automation. Execute complex upgrades and maintenance — plan, document, execute, validate, and communicate firmware upgrades, hardware replacements, and configuration changes. Troubleshoot production incidents — lead root cause analysis, engage vendors, and communicate during outages. Build and maintain automation — develop scripts and pipelines to streamline operational tasks. What's Needed? 5+ years of experience in network operations or engineering with hands-on experience on production network equipment. Proficiency with CLI on at least two of: Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Nokia SROS, Juniper JunOS, Ruckus SmartZone. Strong change management discipline — MOPs, CRQs, maintenance windows, rollback procedures. Experience with Python scripting for operational automation. Understanding of
AAA/RADIUS
