Leads major, highly visible projects to evalue and analyze new communicions network hardware, software, or systems for support in the Sene environment; makes recommendions to senior management on future communicions network releases. Provides initial installion and secondary troubleshooting of hardware and software for communicions network devices and systems; monitors, evalues, and resolves issues involving network hardware/software, applicions, or service performance. Develops project plans and analyzes requirements for communicions network hardware or software implemention throughout the Sene, leads in developing plans for upgrading, installing, validing, and implementing on existing and new sub-systems for enhancement or compliance. Plans, schedules, coordines, and leads technical studies, analyses, and evaluions of future and existing local and wide area network (LAN and WAN), voice network or communicions systems. Develops traffic engineering studies and analyses to determine future voice and da communicions network requirements. Qualificions Other Duties/ Responsibilities Knowledge of network management applicions. Knowledge of router protocols. Knowledge of switching configurions and technologies. Ability to oversee, monitor, and maintain network technologies such as DHCP, DNS, QoS, and VoIP. Ability to plan, schedule, and coordine and lead studies, special projects, and assignments. Ability to evalue and make recommendions on different network-reled applicions software packages. Required Work Experience GED with eight to ten years of relevant work experience; Associes with six to eight years of relevant work experience, Bachelor's with four to eight years of relevant work experience; Master's with two to four years of relevant work experience. Desired Qualificions BS degree in computer science, electrical engineering, telecommunicions or a reled field, or any equivalent combinion of educion and experience in Unified Communicions/Voice technologies. Minimum of 5 years Cisco UC/Voice experience. Strong knowledge of TCP /IP stack and Cisco da networking technologies and products. Strong understanding of Quality of Service (QoS) implemention in a Cisco centric enterprise network. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in Cisco Unified Communicions infrastructure. Strong knowledge and understanding of Cisco CUCM, Unity Connection, IM&P and other UC applicion's building blocks: Partitions, CSS's, Device Pools, Users, Extension Mobility, MOH, media resource/conferencing, SRST, ICT/UC Clusters, Route List, Route Groups, Hunt Groups/List, Translion Pterns, etc. Extensive knowledge of voice signaling, media protocols, and troubleshooting; SIP, RTP, TLS, H.323, and MGCP. Experience with configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting Cisco analog Voice Geways Experience configuring and troubleshooting SIP Trunking and Session Border Controllers such as Cisco Cube and Oracle Acme Packet. Strong knowledge of telephony dial plan design and call routing/control protocols. Experience with integring collaborion tools between Cisco and Microsoft. Experience configuring, testing, deploying, and troubleshooting Expressway C and E, and configuring MRA. Experience with Cisco Business Edition 7000 UCS servers and VMWare ESX a plus. Cisco CCNP collaborion certificion level or knowledge is preferred. Working Conditions Since this position requires onsite presence in support of the U.S. Sene when in session, this position requires the employee to be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weher, on holidays, and during le night, overnight, and weekend sessions. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted. This position directly supports essential services of the U.S. Sene. As such, this position requires the employee be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weher, on holidays, weekends, and during le nights to ensure essential services to the Sene continue without interruption. As such, maintenance windows may only occur night, on weekends, and occasionally on holidays.
