Job Description

Field Automation Engineer - Data Center We are hiring for a leading independent building controls provider serving the Data Center industry who partner with global and regional customers to design, implement, and optimize building automation, energy management, and critical-power systems. The field teams deliver hands-on engineering, commissioning, and service excellence for mission-critical environments. Role Overview As a Field Automation Engineer, you will be a key on-site technical leader responsible for the engineering, integration, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) on mission-critical data center construction and complex commercial projects. You will guide systems from design validation through installation, testing, turnover, and customer acceptance, working closely with project teams, owners, and operations staff. ; conduct site surveys and constructability reviews. Lead system installation, startup, commissioning, and testing activities. Design/implement
BMS/EPMS
with architects/engineers; configure PLC-based controls and manage databases, tags, alarms, trends, graphics. Integrate HVAC plant systems and electrical infrastructure (UPS, switchgear, generators, STS, meters); ensure compliance with standards, cybersecurity, and sequences of operation. Troubleshoot software/hardware/network issues; support IST, advanced commissioning, and live data center cutovers. Support project planning, procurement, and field documentation (as-builts, BOMs, RFIs); assist in owner training and turnover. Contribute to engineering standards and field-process improvements.
Required:
5+ years in BMS/EPMS/controls or industrial automation; strong HVAC/electrical power monitoring and system integration; hands-on PLC experience (Schneider, Rockwell, Siemens typical); data center or mission-critical project experience; ability to manage multiple priorities; strong communication and independent collaboration skills. #
