Unique Skills:

20+ years of experience developing Data Networks or Avionics architectures for various platforms Broad experience and knowledge of aircraft systems and their functional and physical integration with other aircraft systems Working knowledge of guidance material (Advisory Circulars, etc.), current compliance paths and rule-making trends within the industry related to aircraft data networks and distributed computing Experience with cross functional development and critical analysis, with organizations internal and external of Engineering and Gulfstream (Flight Test, Program Management, Suppliers, etc.) Previous experience at both a supplier (Honeywell, Collins, GE) and Gulfstream for the avionics development life cycle

First Shift Experience/Education:

Bachelor's Degree in engineering, a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of appropriate education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job 15+ years progressively responsible engineering experienced in specific tech discipline with Bachelors Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 years Masters, 4 years PhD in fields applicable to this job Requires approval of Eng PRB including bus justification

Position Purpose:

Responsible for the design, research and development of advanced new applications resulting in new product/business for the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Plans R&D programs and recommends technological application programs to meet corporate objectives 2. Proactively promotes process initiatives that improve the balance of technical product, cost and schedule 3. Applies cutting edge theories and technologies by exhibiting an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness 4. Champions and develops innovative principles and ideas 5. Often acts independently and exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments 6. As a recognized expert in the field, provides consultative services to senior/executive leaders both within the company and the industry

Other Requirements:
