Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Systems Engineer
•Mid Level to support a large-scale Department of Defense enterprise network in a 100% onsite environment based in Pearl Harbor, HI , with alternate locations based in Whidbey Island, WA or Norfolk, VA . This role serves as a Tier III escalation point responsible for complex network engineering, troubleshooting, security, configuration management, and lab validation across a geographically dispersed enterprise environment. Mid Level Include:
Engineer, configure, and troubleshoot large-scale
LAN/WAN/WLAN
environments, including Cisco routers and switches, SD-WAN, MPLS, VPNs, wireless, firewalls, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and multicast Serve as a Tier III escalation point for complex network issues, performing root cause analysis and developing solutions to improve network performance, reliability, and availability Support network security and infrastructure changes by applying defense-in-depth principles, DISA STIGs, configuration baselines, Engineering Implementation Plans, and change management processes Perform lab testing and pre-production validation of firmware, security patches, configurations, and network deployments while documenting risks, remediation, and implementation procedures Qualifications for the Network Systems Engineer

Mid Level Include:
6-12 years of relevant systems/network engineering experience, depending on degree level, with strong Tier III troubleshooting experience in large-scale enterprise networks Active Secret clearance IAT Level III certification ; CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification required Advanced experience with LAN/WAN/WLAN, network boundary engineering, routing and switching, SD-WAN, MPLS, VPNs, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, multicast, and network security Experience supporting geographically dispersed enterprise networks and working within SAFe Agile environments using JIRA Compensation for the Network Systems Engineer
