Primary Responsibilities:
- Operating, monitoring, and enhancing multi-environment global networks, including planning/executing maintenance, redundancy, and expansion objectives
- Providing technical thought leadership in the development of our next-generation networks
- Monitoring and improving network performance, scalability, and latency by performing benchmark evaluations, lab evaluations, and capacity planning reviews
- Diagnosing and resolving complex network issues through technical knowledge, tenacity, creativity, and team collaborations
- Designing and creating solutions for automation, deployments, and diagnostics
- Working with vendors to evaluate and prototype new devices and designs
Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years of experience working in the network engineering field
- Demonstrated expertise supporting latency sensitive global networks
- Experience in planning and leading complex network projects involving design, configuration, and implementation of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, load balancers, security, and VPN appliances
- Expert level knowledge of tuning dynamic routing protocols
- Excellent working knowledge and experience with multicast
- Understanding of EVPN VxLAN to create overlay/underlay networks
- Experience supporting Internet infrastructure as in site-to-site VPNs and firewalls
- Designing, building, and managing layer 1 network devices
- Exposure to RF network design with an understanding of the fundamentals
- In-depth understanding of the TCP/IP network stack and the ability to troubleshoot network related issues using relevant tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, etc.
- Strong scripting ability and automation experience; Python and Ansible strongly preferred
- Prior experience in finance or trading domains is preferred
