Type:

full-time Trading Operations Engineer | Quant Trading | Chicago A leading quantitative trading firm is hiring a Trading Operations Engineer to own the reliability of data powering its research and trading, as it expands its mid-frequency strategies and use of alternative data. Joining a small global team, you'll work directly with traders, researchers and engineers to investigate production issues, keep critical datasets accurate and available, and build automation that prevents recurring problems. There's substantial greenfield scope to shape monitoring, validation frameworks and ingestion tooling.

The work:

Troubleshoot data quality, freshness and delivery issues across live pipelines. Build Python/SQL tooling for monitoring, alerting, validation and operational automation. Onboard new datasets and resolve upstream issues with data vendors. Turn recurring incidents into lasting improvements to reliability. Around 30% of the role involves frontline support and incident response, with the remainder focused on deeper investigation, tooling and improvements. You'll bring: 4+ years in SRE, technical operations, data operations or production support, with meaningful exposure to data pipelines. Strong Python and SQL, plus an appetite for troubleshooting and operational ownership. A strong fit for someone who enjoys keeping critical systems running and building the tools to make them better. All conversations strictly confidential.
