Ready to hit the road with us? Primary Objective of Position The Network Support Specialist helps keep Newmar s technology environment reliable, secure, and well supported. This hands-on role focuses on network support, infrastructure projects, and technical support across office and manufacturing areas. Key Areas of Responsibility Troubleshoot wired and wireless network issues, including switches, VLANs, PoE, DNS, DHCP, and performance concerns. Support network equipment, wireless access points, cabling, Palo Alto firewalls, GlobalProtect VPN, and related infrastructure. Support network-connected manufacturing equipment, shop-floor PCs, conference room technology, and the VoIP platform. Deploy, replace, and upgrade network hardware and coordinate with vendors for cabling or infrastructure work. Maintain accurate network documentation, procedures, knowledge-base articles, and change records. Provide hands-on Tier 1/2 support for Windows, hardware, Microsoft 365, Teams, computer deployments, workstation moves, and onboarding. Deliver helpful, timely support while following issues through to resolution or appropriate escalation. Key Attributes We are looking for someone who is curious, dependable, hands-on, and able to communicate clearly with users while taking ownership of issues. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Clear, respectful communication with technical and non-technical users. Ownership mindset with strong follow-through. Organized approach to documentation, equipment, and work areas. Comfortable working throughout a manufacturing facility. Interest in continuing to grow networking and infrastructure skills. Education and Experience Required 1-3 years of experience in IT networking support or a related technical support role. Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Cisco switching, and basic network configuration. Experience troubleshooting wired and wireless connectivity, Windows, hardware, Microsoft 365, Teams, and Office applications. Strong customer-service, communication, troubleshooting, and ownership skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize issues, and work hands-on in office and manufacturing environments. Preferred Degree in IT, Computer Science, Networking, or related field. CompTIA Network+ and/or A+ certification. Experience with Cisco Meraki, Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco ISE, network monitoring tools, routing, Wireshark, PowerShell, VoIP, or Microsoft 365 administration. Physical and Work Environment This is a 100% on-site, hands-on position based at Newmar. The role requires working throughout office and manufacturing areas, including network closets and under-desk workspaces, with occasional ladder use and lifting up to approximately 50 pounds. Occasional after-hours support may be needed for outages, maintenance, or manufacturing emergencies. There is no regular on-call rotation.
