We're looking for a Systems Coordinator who is technically skilled, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting the technology that powers library services. If you enjoy managing complex systems, working with databases and servers, and collaborating with staff and vendors to keep systems running smoothly and efficiently, this role offers an opportunity to make a critical, behind-the-scenes impact on how the library serves its community. What You'll Do Lead administration and optimization of the Integrated Library System (ILS) and all related applications. Serve as the primary point of contact with the ILS vendor and coordinate system updates, enhancements, and issue resolution. Manage and configure supporting systems, including DNS, LDAP, and additional database applications. Oversee installation and implementation of new software modules and ensure seamless integration with existing systems. Ensure compatibility across hardware, operating systems, and application software within the library's technology environment. Collaborate with the Digital Branch Librarian to maintain and enhance the public catalog and related third-party tools. Supervise and support IT staff by setting priorities, monitoring performance, and fostering professional development. Manage systems-related purchasing, vendor coordination, and contribute to department budgeting and financial oversight. Maintain and support servers for the library intranet, local history sites, and other specialized web applications. Analyze system data and oversee reporting, statistics, and technology-related grant applications. Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours technical support as needed. Performs other job-related tasks as needed to support Library operations. What We're Looking For Demonstrated ability to lead projects and supervise staff. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to inform decisions. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and build positive working relationships with staff, patrons, and external partners. Flexible, adaptable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Passion for leveraging technology to enhance library services and user experience. Strong commitment to public service and technology-driven innovation. Willingness to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed. Knowledge of, or interest in learning about, library services and the Kenton County community. Ability to move throughout facilities and navigate tight or confined spaces safely, maintaining good balance. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 2 years experience, or MLS from an ALA accredited institution and computer science experience. KDLA certification (or ability to obtain) at the level required for this position, and the ability to maintain it. Experience administering an Integrated Library System (ILS) in a multi-branch environment or working with DBMS software and SQL programming. Demonstrated understanding of servers, networking, DNS, web services, and enterprise applications. Working knowledge of Linux system administration. Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS (EC2, S3, CloudFront, Route 53, SES, Lambda); certification a plus. Must have the ability to lift, push, and pull 25-100 pounds. Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, climb, and crouch to install, retrieve, or maintain computer equipment and cabling. Must be able to safely handle and use small (non-power) tools. Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation beyond public transit options.
