Job Description

Network Installation Specialist I Cherokee Federal 401(k) United States, Louisiana, Orleans Apr 08, 2026 Network Installation Specialist Level I (IT) •This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance.•Network Installation Specialist supports services for the installation maintenance of IT infrastructure and cabling, communication and security systems hardware and software subsystems and equipment. This specialist will play a key part in ensuring the seamless integration and functionality of computer networks for various projects and organizations. The Network Installation Specialist will work closely with IT teams and clients to plan, implement, and optimize network installations, ensuring they meet industry standards and security requirements.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Network Installation Specialist Level I (IT): $50k-55k Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Network Installation Specialist Level I (IT)
Responsibilities Include:
Installs, terminates, and tests communication cables and fiber optic cables. Installs and replaces copper cabling in a commercial environment. Routes Cat6 and fiber optic cable through conduit, above ceilings and between floors per job specifications. Reads and comprehends technical schematics, operation manuals, maintenance instructions and procedures. Provides or relocates cable and modular connections. Work with EMT and J-Hooks for best cable routes. Assist in installation of communications hardware. Completes projects within budget, on time, and in a safe manner. Maintains the company's high standards of quality and professionalism with regards to workmanship, customer relations, and team members. Adheres to all required project specific as well as company safety requirements. Conducts field training and second-level problem evaluation using documented procedures and available tools. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Network Installation Specialist Level I (IT) Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 0-3 years of cabling and electronics maintenance experience. AMAG Installer/Maintainer certification desired. Experience working with network hardware devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points. Understanding of network security principles and best practices. Strong technical knowledge of networking concepts and technologies. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve network issues. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft office suite. Must be able to responsibly and independently work and lead in remote locations with no supervision. US Citizenship; must be able to obtain an interim Secret Clearance prior to start Secret Clearance required. Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to: Network Technician I, Network Support Specialist, or IT Installation Technician Must pass pre-employment qualifications of
