Job Description
Job Summary Our client, a leading technology provider, is seeking an Advisor, IT Network Development to join their team! This position is a 5-month contract with onsite opportunities in Franklin, MA and Hopkinton, MA. Core Responsibilities Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure with a focus on Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching technologies Develop and implement network automation solutions to streamline provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting Manage and optimize network performance, availability, and security across data center and campus environments Automate routine network operations using scripting and orchestration tools Troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network integration and deployment efforts Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures and participate in change management and continuous improvement initiatives Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience 5+ years of network engineering experience Strong expertise in Layer 2/Layer 3 switching, including VLANs, VRRP, MC-LAG, STP, VTP, PortChannel, OSPF, and BGP Demonstrated proficiency with network automation using Python, Ansible, or similar scripting and automation frameworks Strong enterprise network design and troubleshooting experience Experience with REST APIs and network programmability concepts Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security fundamentals Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves) Experience with Dell networking platforms Experience with Cisco, Arista, and/or Juniper networking platforms Experience supporting network infrastructure across data center and campus environments Experience with network vulnerability and security risk assessments Experience with network performance monitoring and capacity planning Experience coordinating network deployments across cross-functional teams and vendors Key Competencies & Behaviors Complex problem solving and root cause analysis Cross-functional collaboration Strong technical communication and documentation Automation and continuous improvement mindset Ability to work independently in an onsite network environment
