Lab Support Principal Engineer Lab Support Engineering is at the heart of a worldwide lab operations team providing 24x7 lab access, service and solutions support in multiple locations. Independent and flexible, team members are always ready to adapt to the changing daily priorities. They make an impact in all kinds of ways - from installing and maintaining servers and storage equipment within the fast-paced lab computing environment, through to providing top-level technical expertise and support to engineering departmental users. What's more, they work with engineering teams to create hardware configuration test plans in support of software development. What you'll achieve: As a Principal Engineer, you will lead complex builds and troubleshoot systemic issues across compute, storage, and networking. Here's what we are looking for with this role: Essential Requirements 8+ years of related experience Subject-matter expertise in compute/storage/network platforms. Ability to analyze incidents, trends, and root causes to recommend fixes. Experience coordinating changes and acceptance testing with vendors. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Desirable Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, Linux+, ITIL Foundation, or vendor credentials (e.g., Dell/HP/Cisco). Compensation Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices The salary range for this position is $117,600 - $161,700 You will: Serve as SME across compute/storage/network; coordinate change plans and acceptance testing. Analyze incidents and trends; recommend design or process changes. Troubleshoot systemic issues; contribute to automation scripts. Maintain accurate diagrams and inventories; coach peers.
