Job Summary:
Job Description Tracks and monitors ongoing Data Center critical infrastructure maintenance and repair for all service lines to pre-defined service level agreements (SLAs). Manages incidents that impact Data Center infrastructure services and the proactive and timely resolution of such incidents. Conducts site reviews and assessments to evaluate suitability for data center builds. Acts as the engineering representative on a wide range of moderately complex on-site scenarios related to mission critical systems, operations, and functionality. Provides engineering insight to ensure project or other design initiatives align with company expectations. Contributes to the identification of training programs for newer members of the team, acting as a subject matter expert with many standard systems and trains others on the team. Responsibilities Independently troubleshoot and support BMS, EPMS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, and OT network systems that monitor and control mission-critical data center infrastructure. Investigate controls faults, alarm issues, graphics problems, communications failures, and integration defects affecting mechanical or electrical operations. Support design review, commissioning, startup, and operational acceptance of automation systems for new builds, retrofits, and upgrades. Review, validate, and improve control logic, sequences of operation, points databases, graphics, alarm behaviors, and network architecture documentation. Partner with site operations and facilities teams to resolve automation-related issues affecting uptime, maintainability, visibility, or operational response. Apply working knowledge of OT cybersecurity practices to support secure, compliant, and supportable automation environments. Coordinate with vendors, system integrators, and construction or commissioning teams to drive quality execution and operational readiness. Maintain accurate documentation for control programs, network diagrams, inventories, standards, and configuration records. Support RCAs, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities related to controls reliability and automation performance. Contribute to development of repeatable processes, templates, and standards for site automation support. Ideal Candidate Profile 3-5 years of experience in building automation, controls engineering, industrial automation, OT systems, or mission-critical facility controls support. Experience supporting BMS, EPMS, PLC, SCADA, industrial networking, and field instrumentation in operational environments. Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical facility systems and how automation platforms support monitoring, alarming, and control. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls, Computer Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related field preferred; equivalent experience also valued. Skills and Competencies Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capability across controls, automation logic, graphics, field devices, and communications infrastructure. Ability to work independently in time-sensitive operational environments. Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to site teams and stakeholders. Good judgment in balancing operational urgency, system reliability, and procedural discipline. Strong documentation rigor and follow-through. Preferred Skills / Certifications Experience with platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Ignition, Niagara, Johnson Controls, or similar automation ecosystems.
