Job Description

Warehouse Industrial Engineer

Beneva Group is conducting a confidential search for a Warehouse Lead Industrial Engineer (Lead Continuous Improvement Engineer) on behalf of a national third-party logistics and supply-chain leader, at a dedicated distribution site in Hagerstown, MD. This is an on-site leadership role driving continuous improvement across a large-scale distribution environment. This is added headcount a newly created role. The Lead Industrial Engineer identifies, leads, and drives change across the operation through data-driven CI, engineering, and automation, with the opportunity to shape the role and the CI function as the site grows. The role reports to the site CI Manager / Senior CI Manager and is closely aligned with the General Manager / Director of Operations. It is a high-influence position that interfaces with employees at all levels. What You'll Own

  • Continuous Improvement Leadership Lead and drive change across a large-scale distribution operation using data-driven CI, engineering methodologies, and lean tools to raise performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth; develop and the site transformation plan
  • High-Impact Projects Manage and complete high-impact CI projects that deliver measurable business results; assess initiatives, recommend future activities, and support start-ups, retrofits, expansions, and automation projects
  • Warehouse Engineering & Data Analysis product slotting, labor standards and time studies, facility layout and flow optimization, data profiling, and resource modeling to improve distribution operations
  • Value Stream Mapping & Kaizen Facilitate and Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events through all stages — A3 charter, pre-work, delivery, and sustainment and coach process owners on lean methods
  • Team Leadership & Influence May supervise CI engineering and quality professionals as the function takes shape; coach employees across the operation in CI, quality assurance, and lean principles
  • Reporting & Strategy Provide regular data and progress reporting against site objectives, and make inventory and supply-chain strategy recommendations
  • Quality Systems Design, implement, and monitor the QMS and a standardized corrective-action system; support regulatory compliance and certification requirements What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering (other engineering or supply-chain degrees considered with significant IE professional experience); or Master's degree with 5+ years related experience
  • Distribution and warehousing background this is a warehouse engineering role; manufacturing-only experience does not transfer
  • 7+ years of warehouse engineering experience (facility design and layout using AutoCAD, racking and slotting, WMS) plus continuous improvement experience (process optimization, efficiency, cost-savings identification)
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience with large data sets Excel, SQL, and Power BI required
  • Strong communication and presentation skills this is a highly customer-facing role
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship Desired Characteristics
  • Warehouse design tools CAD (AutoCAD), slotting (e.g., Slot3D), predetermined motion/time systems (e.g., MOST), Warehouse Management Systems (e.g., Manhattan), and labor management systems
  • Knowledge of material handling and automation racking and storage design, conveyor and sortation, packaging equipment, PIT applications, and automation solutions (e.g., AS/RS)
  • Proficiency developing Leader Standard Work, Visual Management, Management Accountability Systems, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and 5S
  • Data visualization (Power BI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX)
  • APICS and/or supply-chain logistics certification; cPMP or ISO/QMS exposure a plus
