TS/SCILeidos is seeking an Enterprise Storage Engineer to join our team in Suitland, MD, supporting the Hopper Global Communications Center (HGCC) Information Technology Operations Department, Systems Division. In this role, you will help design, optimize, manage, and secure the enterprise storage infrastructure that supports critical applications, cloud environments, and on premise file storage.This is an opportunity to apply your NetApp expertise across the full storage lifecycle, from architecture and deployment to performance optimization, troubleshooting, security, and disaster recovery. Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, configure, and administer NetApp enterprise storage environments.
- Manage storage provisioning, capacity, performance, availability, and lifecycle activities across production and nonproduction environments.
- Monitor storage health, utilization, and performance, perform proactive capacity planning, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot complex storage incidents involving NetApp systems, hosts, networks, Fibre Channel fabrics, and application dependencies.
- Perform upgrades, firmware updates, patching, hardware refreshes, and storage migrations while minimizing service disruption.
- Configure and maintain Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs), volumes, aggregates, LUNs, qtrees, quotas, export policies, and related storage services.
- Implement storage security and access controls consistent with organizational and cybersecurity requirements.
- Support high availability, business continuity, and disaster recovery testing, including validation of recovery procedures.
- Analyze storage trends and recommend architecture, capacity, performance, and cost optimization improvements.
- Maintain system documentation, diagrams, configuration standards, operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Coordinate with server, virtualization, network, database, backup, cybersecurity, and application teams to support infrastructure requirements.
- Provide technical support for escalated incidents and participate in root cause analysis and problem management.
- Work with NetApp and other vendors to troubleshoot hardware and software issues and coordinate replacements or engineering support.
- Ensure storage platforms comply with applicable configuration, change management, security, and operational standards.
- Participate in maintenance activities and provide on call or after hours support when required.
- Travel may be required to Norfolk, VA; Charleston, SC; Newport, RI; Whidbey Island, WA; San Diego, CA; Fallon, NV; Honolulu, HI; Naples, Italy; Guam; Bahrain; and Japan.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an IT related field with 6+ or 8+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Experience as a NetApp Enterprise Storage Engineer.
- Experience managing enterprise storage solutions for applications, cloud, and on premise file storage.
- Expert knowledge of NetApp Data ONTAP and ONTAP System Manager.
- Expert knowledge of operating systems and technologies.
- Proficient working knowledge of network technologies and protocols.
- Strong understanding of storage systems, RAID, SAN, NAS, backup solutions, and data storage optimization, with expertise in backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience working in virtual environments.
Required Certifications:
- Security+ certification.
- NetApp Certified Technology Solutions Professional certification.
- NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) certification.
