Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a transportation infrastructure organization, is seeking a skilled Network Engineer. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and supporting a complex enterprise network environment, maintaining network performance and security, and supporting critical infrastructure across a highly available, on-site operation.
Job Duties:
Design, implement, configure, manage, monitor, and support enterprise network systems and solutions Monitor network health, availability, capacity, and performance Implement network infrastructure projects supporting operational and technology objectives Support business continuity testing and network resiliency initiatives Develop network performance metrics and reporting for capacity and growth planning Maintain network infrastructure in accordance with applicable security standards and requirements Coordinate technical requirements across networking, server infrastructure, and cybersecurity environments Provide after-hours and on-call technical support as required
Skills Required:
4+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, configuring, securing, monitoring, and supporting Cisco routing and switching environments Active CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification Hands-on experience with BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VLANs, VTP, network virtualization, switch stacking, PoE+, optics, collapsed-core architectures, Cisco ISE, and Cisco Catalyst Center Experience supporting LAN, WAN, WLAN, Internet, VPN, and VoIP network services Experience with enterprise network monitoring tools, including SolarWinds 3+ years of experience with Palo Alto and Fortinet firewall technologies, security appliances, MFA, and SSO 3+ years of experience in complex enterprise environments, including data center/IDF infrastructure, system racking, structured cabling, KVM, Ethernet, fiber optics, and microwave technologies Desired Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking protocols, architectures, topologies, lifecycle management, monitoring, and troubleshooting methodologies Knowledge of data center standards, infrastructure best practices, and solutions Knowledge of public cloud networking architectures, standards, and best practices Knowledge of cybersecurity standards, technologies, and best practices Experience with ServiceNow ITSM Knowledge of networking requirements and standards applicable to highly regulated transportation environments CCNP and/or CCIE certification PCNSA, PCNSE, CISSP, and/or CISM certification
