Functional Safety Software & Automation Engineer Dearborn, Michigan Responsibilities:
- Develop automation solutions for Functional Safety work products, verification and confirmation reviews, assessments and requirements traceability.
- Use software development, AI, data analytics and systems engineering approaches to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
- Integrate engineering data across tools such as GitHub, Codebeamer and MagicDraw/Cameo where applicable.
- Define reusable automation frameworks, scripts, dashboards or validation aids for Functional Safety lifecycle activities.
- Support compliance evidence generation and improve audit readiness through traceable, data-driven outputs.
Requirements:
- Strong Python development capability with automation framework mindset.
- Working knowledge of AI/ML or analytics techniques for engineering productivity use cases.
- Experience with APIs, GitHub, Codebeamer and MagicDraw/Cameo or similar engineering platforms.
- Understanding of ISO 26262, Functional Safety work products and traceability expectations.
- Ability to convert engineering pain points into scalable automation solutions.
