Job Description
Piper Companies is seeking a BMS/FMS Engineer to support a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing expansion in Clayton, North Carolina. This BMS/FMS Engineer opportunity is a long-term contract position requiring 100% onsite presence, five days per week, and offers the chance to contribute to critical building automation and facility monitoring initiatives within a highly regulated GMP environment. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive review, verification, and approval of automation, commissioning, qualification, and validation documentation associated with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Facility Monitoring Systems (FMS).
- Support GMP-compliant validation activities, ensuring documentation aligns with project standards, regulatory requirements, and operational expectations.
- Coordinate with automation vendors, engineering teams, quality groups, and project stakeholders to facilitate testing, issue resolution, and system readiness activities.
- Assist with system configuration tasks including user management, platform setup, controller integration, and environment testing across BMS and FMS applications.
- Provide project coordination support through progress reporting, documentation tracking, stakeholder communications, and cross-functional meeting participation. Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of experience in validation, commissioning documentation, qualification, or related regulated-industry engineering activities, preferably within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, GxP principles, GMP compliance requirements, and regulated facility operations.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret P&IDs, control narratives, functional specifications, and sequences of operation.
- Hands-on technical understanding of building automation technologies including controller configuration, networking fundamentals, IP addressing, and firewall concepts.
- Experience working with leading BMS platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, or similar automation technologies; greenfield project exposure is beneficial but not required.
Compensation Salary Range:
$150,000 - $185,000 annuallyComprehensive Benefits:
